Plot

Awakening on a desolate beach with a throbbing wound on his forehead, a castaway finds himself in a strange, isolated world. He spots a mysterious woman, Nora, vanishing into the distance and, clutching his satchel, he follows her. However, a precarious cliff proves treacherous, sending him spiralling into unconsciousness. When he comes to, he finds himself in the care of Walsh, the enigmatic lighthouse keeper, in a secluded peninsula. Shrouded in a fog of amnesia, he learns of their solitary existence, cut off from civilization with only a fortnightly ferry as their link to San Francisco. Walsh imparts a chilling warning, a rule etched in stone; the lighthouse must never be left in darkness when night falls. Driven by curiosity and a growing affection for Nora, the young man ventures into the enigmatic woods during the day, their bond deepening with every encounter. But Nora harbours a fear of the lighthouse and its keeper, hinting at Walsh's unstable mind. As night descends, the castaway, in a defiant act, extinguishes the lighthouse candle. The darkness awakens terrifying spectral creatures, the grotesque denizens of the night that Walsh had warned him about. Now, he must face the haunting specters and uncover the secrets that shroud Walsh, Nora, and the lighthouse. Will he heed the cryptic warnings of the lighthouse keeper or succumb to the horrors that thrive in the darkness? This tale of isolation and unearthly terror unravels in Edgar Allan Poe's 'Lighthouse Keeper'.
