Plot

In the gritty underbelly of the city's corruption, intrepid newspaper reporter Frank Ross uncovers a labyrinth of graft and deceit linked to the awarding of contracts to companies owned by the formidable Hanley. Despite forewarnings, Ross refuses to be silenced, plunging headfirst into the treacherous waters of his exposé. But the powerful Hanley has other plans, ensnaring Ross in a web of treachery that sees him wrongfully accused of drunk-driving and manslaughter. Thrust into the bleak confines of the State Penitentiary, Ross finds himself battling not only the harsh realities of prison life but also the ruthless cruelty of its guards. Once an optimist, Ross is hardened by his new surroundings, his spirit slowly succumbing to bitterness. Yet, beneath the hard exterior, burns an unwavering determination to prove his innocence. A potential ally emerges in the form of charismatic gangster, Hood Stacey, a fellow inmate with a tantalizing proposition. If Ross helps Stacey orchestrate a daring escape, Stacey promises to unravel the truth and secure Ross's freedom. Meanwhile, on the outside, Ross's comrades at the newspaper launch their own investigation into the conspiracy that led to his downfall. In the face of adversity and against the looming shadows of despair, Ross must make a choice. Will he allow prison life to bury his optimism, or will he hold onto hope and fight for his redemption? "Each Dawn I Die" is an enthralling tale of corruption, betrayal, and the unyielding quest for justice.
