Plot

In the tranquil embrace of a distant mountain town, Duke Evans, a resourceful yet unemployed engineer, endeavors to piece together a new life for his family, stitching together their own patchwork version of the American Dream. However, this fragile dream shatters abruptly on the day a cataclysmic cyberattack decimates the U.S. as we know it. The unsuspecting culprit: every microchip 'Made in China', contaminated by a virulent virus that swiftly plunges the nation into a technological blackout. The aftermath unfolds with terrifying speed. As the rule of law disintegrates, and the lifeblood of society – water, food, and power – evaporates, Duke must lead his family through this chillingly plausible nightmare. His path becomes inextricably bound with that of Alonso, a Mexican migrant worker whose status is as illegal as his survival instincts are sharp. In a world where the familiar threads of civilization have been violently unwoven, Duke and Alonso must navigate their way through the chaos, pooling their collective wits to withstand the odds. As they grapple with their terrifying new reality, the duo spins a tale of survival and resilience against a backdrop of despair, painting a stark yet riveting portrait of humanity's tenacity in the face of overwhelming adversity.
