Plot

In a world teetering on the brink of annihilation, espionage agents uncover a chilling revelation - the Red Chinese have engineered a "doomsday machine" with the terrifying capability of obliterating Earth's surface. The countdown to this apocalyptic event is ticking, the endgame is mere days away. Amidst this unfolding catastrophe, Project Astra, an ambitious manned space voyage to Venus, spearheaded by the U.S., is nearing its final countdown. However, a sudden and unexpected directive overhauls the mission. The military commandeers the project, and the all-male crew of Astra undergoes a radical transformation as women replace nearly half of them. The cryptic reasoning behind this abrupt shift only becomes evident post-launch. As Astra breaks free from Earth's orbit, a cataclysmic event unfolds. The world as we know it is wiped out, swallowed by the very doomsday the spies had feared. Now, the remnants of humanity hurtle through the cosmos aboard Astra, their destination - Venus. The question that lingers - are we witnessing the sunset of the human race? The crew of the Astra must traverse the treacherous path to Venus, bracing themselves for the dangers and marvels that lie in wait.
