Plot

In the wake of Siegfried's tragic death, Kriemhild, a woman consumed by vengeance, finds herself in the throes of grief and thirst for retribution. Her heart yearns for justice against Hagen Tronje, Siegfried’s murderer. But her quest for revenge is thwarted by her own flesh and blood, her brother King Gunther, who refuses to hand over Hagen, thereby igniting a familial feud that echoes through the halls of their kingdom. Amidst this turmoil, an unexpected suitor appears in the form of King Attila of the Huns, courting Kriemhild through his ambassador Rüdiger von Bechlar. Ensnared by the promise of power and protection, Kriemhild marries Attila, binding him through an oath to never let any man offend her. This alliance propels her further on her path of vengeance, while Hagen, in a desperate move, secretes the coveted Nibelungen treasure at the bottom of a lake. As Kriemhild transitions into her new life with the Huns, she carries with her a piece of her old one - earth from where Siegfried drew his last breath. Attila, bound by his oath, welcomes her with open arms, and together they reign over the court of the Huns, their union cemented with the birth of their son. In an intriguing twist, Kriemhild manipulates Attila into inviting her brothers to their kingdom, paving the way for a deadly family reunion. As the summer solstice celebration paints the kingdom with festivities, Kriemhild's relentless pursuit for Hagen's head becomes the sinister undercurrent of the gathering. The refusal of Attila to break the sacred law of the desert and kill a guest, and the steadfast loyalty of her brothers towards Hagen, leads to a bloody confrontation, resulting in the death of Attila’s son at Hagen's hands. The Nibelungen's distress echoes through Attila's castle as they find themselves under siege by the Huns, their only hope for survival being the delivery of Hagen to Kriemhild. The climax of her revenge unfolds with the death of Rüdiger von Bechlarn, Giselher, and Gernot. Finally, Hagen Tronje and Gunther are captured, and Kriemhild exacts her revenge, bringing about the destruction of the Nibelungen in a riveting conclusion that leaves viewers breathless.
