Detroit (2017)

Inspired by real events, a mishandled police raid in 1967 leads to some of the worst race riots in American history. The police targeting Vietnam veterans in the traditionally black neighborhood of Victoria Park draws the ire of the community, and mobs begin to form as the police arrest protesters. The situation soon escalates, and the localized riot comes to represent black America's larger frustrations at the abuses they suffered at the hands of an inequitable system. As violence continues to further spiral out of control, police act with aggravated force and continue to feed a flame that could burn the city to cinders.
