On a detour from their usual path home from the annual Terlingua cookoff, four inseparable friends find themselves drawn to the enigmatic town of Marfa, a small West Texas settlement shrouded in mystery and whispered rumors of inexplicable ghost lights. Their curiosity piqued, they make an impromptu pit stop at a remote gas station, where an encounter with two peculiar attendants sets the tone for their journey. Presented with an unexpected opportunity to glimpse into their futures by a 25-cent fortune-telling machine, they find themselves questioning both the cryptic message and its bizarre messenger. As they step into Marfa, an odd sensation descends upon them. The town’s eccentricity is almost palpable, with every corner seeming to hold a secret. Eden Percell, a fervent seeker of the unknown, begins to suspect the town's inhabitants of dabbling in witchcraft, her theory supported by the strange occurrences that seem to follow them. Convinced of her theory's validity, she tries to persuade Erik, but will he believe her? And should they dare to share their unsettling suspicions with their two drama-prone companions?
