In the crisp embrace of the holiday season, Ashley Harrison, a dedicated crafter from Sacramento, finds herself yearning for the comforting warmth of her Seattle-based family. With her heart still nursing the sting of a year-old break-up and her mother recently widowed, Ashley is determined to traverse the distance that separates her from her hometown. However, her yuletide plans hit a snag when an inexplicable issue with her plane reservation leaves her stranded at the Sacramento airport. Enter Dash Sutherland, a reserved house painter with an equally urgent need to reach Seattle. When Ashley's hopes of renting a car are dashed by Dash's quick claim on the last available vehicle, she grudgingly agrees to accompany him on what promises to be an eventful road trip. As the journey unfolds, the pair navigates various hurdles, from car breakdowns to the unexpected responsibility of a puppy, their dynamic oscillating between harmony and discord, much like the contrasting notes of a Christmas carol. While Ashley's life unfolds like an open book before Dash, he remains an enigma, his personal life shrouded in mystery. Unbeknownst to Ashley, her travel woes stem from her name appearing on the no-fly list, piquing the interest of FBI Agent Sam Munroe who suspects her of being a radicalized terrorist. Shadowing their journey under Munroe's orders is novice Agent Phelps, whose clumsy surveillance tactics further complicate the duo's road trip. As if the FBI tail and a puppy weren't enough, Ashley and Dash also contend with the affections of a lovesick teenager, Travis, whose infatuation with Ashley adds another layer of complexity to their journey. Amidst the chaos and unexpected detours, the frosty air between Ashley and Dash gradually gives way to a hint of romance. As they race against the ticking Christmas clock, they may discover that this journey holds more than just the promise of reaching home; it could usher in a transformation of their hearts, altering their holiday experiences forever. Will this unexpected road trip bring them love, or will it throw a curveball, adding another bump in their tumultuous journey towards romance?
