In a striking tale inspired by real events, we meet Danny, a hardworking cement truck driver marooned in the monotony of suburban Australia. When his cunning girlfriend, Trudy, sabotages his much-anticipated vacation, Danny decides to break free from his dreary existence in the most unconventional way possible - by soaring into the heavens, strapped to a chair buoyed by helium balloons. A ferocious thunderstorm whisks the airborne adventurer off course, depositing him in the verdant, unsuspecting town of Clarence. Here, Danny plummets into the life of Glenda, the town's sole parking enforcement officer. As the media back in Sydney scurry to solve the mystery of his disappearance, Danny seizes the opportunity to reinvent himself in this serene setting. Along the journey, he discovers in Glenda, a soulmate, an unexpected treasure in his grand escapade. However, fate has a way of reeling wayward souls back in. Danny's true identity is eventually unmasked, and Trudy, who's now a tabloid sensation, arrives in Clarence, intent on reclaiming Danny and hauling him back to Sydney. But Danny isn't the same man Trudy left behind; he's tasted happiness and acknowledged his self-worth. Bidding a final farewell to Trudy, Danny comes full circle, making a spectacular return to Clarence. With newfound spirit, he is resolved to win back Glenda and savor his rediscovered love for life.
