My Week with Marilyn (2011)

In 1957 the great British actor Sir Laurance Olivier is directing and acting in a new movie, The Prince and the Showgirl. He casts American blond bombshell Marylin Monroe to play the female lead. However, he quickly becomes frustrated with the neurotic star’s painful lack of self-confidence. He hires a young Oxford film student, Colin Clark, to serve as Monroe’s assistant in the hopes of bolstering her performance. An unlikely relationship develops between the young man and Monroe as they share downtime and romantic sparks fly. Fictionalized but based on true events of making the 1957 classic film.
