Plot

In the heart of a quaint Indian town, lives Dinanath, a revered schoolteacher, his devoted wife, Kamla, his blossoming daughter, Shanti, and his young son, Kundan. Dinanath’s life’s work, a book titled "Daata," which harmoniously conveys the principles of all major world religions, earns him esteemed recognition from the President of India via the Education Minister, Raja Suraj Singh. As life unfolds, Dinanath arranges Shanti’s marriage to the son of the affluent Gopaldas. However, Gopaldas' crippling demand for a dowry overshadows the joy of the union. Dinanath, a man of limited means but rich in principles, insists he has given Shanti ample gold and jewelry. Tragically, the gold is discovered to be counterfeit, leading to the abrupt cancellation of the wedding. The scandal fuels Shanti’s despair to the point of suicide, and the shock triggers Dinanath's fatal heart attack. With their reputation tarnished and their world crumbled, Kundan and Kamla are shunned by society. In his rage and grief, Kundan transforms from an innocent boy to a fierce bandit. He allies himself with a crew of outlaws, and vows to avenge his father's death by eliminating Gopaldas' son. As he embarks on this path of vengeance, one can't help but wonder - is this the destiny Dinanath had envisioned for his son? Will Kundan meet his end at the hands of law, living the life of a bandit, a far cry from the teachings of his father's book, "Daata"?
