Plot

The true story of brilliant mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, born in India in 1910. He lived in poverty in Madras and worked odd jobs as a young adult. An employer noticed he was unusually good with numbers. This brought the attention of British professor G.H. Hardy of Trinity College, Cambridge. Hardy takes Ramanujan under his wing and brings him to England to develop his genius-level math intellect. However, Ramanujan must leave behind his wife and is allotted few comforts in the U.K. He faces racial prejudice, exploitation and suffers tuberculosis all while his family back in India has mysteriously gone silent.
