Plot

In the vibrant heart of Paris, 1895, Pierre, a flamboyant poet on the precipice of renown, resides. His world intertwines with that of Henri, a fellow poet and comrade, and the audacious Marie, the beguiling daughter of their Franco-Cuban mentor, the esteemed poet José-Maria de Heredia. Both poets are entranced by Marie, but it is Pierre who steals her heart. Yet, societal obligations and her father's mounting debt force Marie into a marriage with Henri, promising a superior social standing. In the wake of this matrimonial betrayal, Pierre seeks solace in the exotic landscapes of Algeria, where he encounters Zohar. A shared fascination with the seductive allure of erotic photography ignites between them, creating a bond that transcends mere friendship. Two years hence, Pierre returns to the Parisian scene with Zohar, only to be confronted by Marie's confession of love for him. As their illicit affair unfolds, the city of Paris, steeped in the clandestine world of erotic photography, becomes their playground. Their love story becomes a daring game of hide and seek, embroiling other lives and defying societal norms. Their rebellious romance, intertwined with their literary prowess, propels them into the annals of history, cementing their legacy as some of the most influential writers and poets of 19th-century France.
