Plot

In the heart of Bataan, The Philippines, the horrors of war echo through the corridors of an American military field hospital. At its helm, Captain Alice Marsh faces the relentless tide of wounded soldiers and the insidious enemy of malaria, with a diminishing supply of quinine. Driven by necessity, civilian nurse Flo Norris is dispatched into Mariveles on a mission to recruit American refugees from Manila with first aid experience to assist the overworked medical staff. From the hundreds she encounters, Norris returns with a disparate group of nine women, all novices to the grim realities of war, each possessing a unique mental and emotional approach to their new circumstances. Under the stern watch of Lieutenant Mary Smith, they must navigate the unfamiliar terrain of the military setting and overcome their individual differences. Together, they must strive to work harmoniously, providing care under fire with unwavering humanity. However, the task is far from straightforward. The team is a motley crew, comprising a Southern belle, a defiant waitress named Pat Conlin, and a stripper among others. The tension escalates when Pat grapples with taking orders from the Lieutenant, her disdain for "a dame" in command evident. The clash of personalities is further fueled by undisclosed secrets that Lieutenant Smith harbors, adding a layer of mystery that even Captain Marsh is oblivious to. Thrown together in this desperate and seemingly hopeless situation, the group must learn to coexist and function as a team. As they grapple with the harsh realities of war, they must also confront their own personal conflicts, all while trying to survive in the shadow of an ever-encroaching enemy. The movie 'Cry 'Havoc' paints a vivid portrait of courage, camaraderie, and the human spirit's resilience amidst the turbulence of war.
