In the endlessly buzzing hive of Reagan High School, Liz Purr stands as the queen bee, a vision of popularity and perfection. Her 17th birthday morning, however, is marked by an unforeseen shift in the order. In the name of a playful prank, her three best friends - the icy-hearted Courtney, her agreeable shadow Marcie, and the morally-bound Julie - orchestrate a faux kidnapping. Liz is yanked from the sanctuary of her bed, bound, and stowed into a car trunk, silenced by the unyielding sweetness of a jawbreaker.
