Plot

In Crutch, an autobiographical masterpiece by writer-director Rob Moretti, we are plunged into the tumultuous life of David, a young man wrestling with familial discord and the shadows of substance abuse. Beneath the camouflage of middle-class suburban utopia, David's domestic life is crumbling away. As he battles to navigate these treacherous waters, he falls prey to the enchanting influence of Kenny, an alluring thirty-something former actor turned theatre mentor. Kenny's initial guidance spirals into a dangerous seduction, sending David further into the abyss of alcohol and drug dependency. The captivating narrative of Crutch paints an unflinching portrait of the complexities of youth and the tumultuous journey towards self-discovery. It is a harrowing story of survival as David must claw his way out of his addiction if he hopes to escape the destructive path he's on. Crutch is a poignant exploration of the trials of adolescence, the struggle for identity, and the courage required to endure life's harshest realities.
