Plot

In the wake of a near-death experience that fatefully intertwined their destinies, three Catholic priests gather annually to commemorate their shared survival. However, as the echoes of tragedy fade into the background, the stark contrasts of their daily lives become glaringly evident. Lisowski, portrayed by Jacek Braciak, is an ambitious curia worker in a bustling metropolis, his dreams reaching as far as the grandeur of the Vatican. His path, though, is marred by the imposing figure of Archbishop Mordowicz, a dignitary who wields political influence with a luxurious hand, committed to constructing Poland's largest sanctuary. In sharp contrast, Trybus, played by Robert Wieckiewicz, is a humble rural pastor. Amidst the stark poverty of his parish, he finds himself wrestling with his own human frailties, teetering at the precipice of temptation. Meanwhile, Arkadiusz Jakubik's Kukula, despite his impassioned faith, finds his credibility eroding with each passing day, losing the faith of his congregation as rapidly as sand slips through fingers. As the narrative unfolds, the disparate threads of these priests' lives begin to converge once more, spiraling towards a series of events that promise to leave an indelible mark on their existence. "Clergy" (2018) is a riveting exploration of faith and fallibility, of divine duty and human weakness. This tale of three priests, bound by a shared past and divergent paths, is bound to captivate viewers as they navigate the tumultuous waters of their challenges.
