Plot

In the heart of 1942, Johann, a solitary German, traverses the sun-parched roads of Northeast Brazil. He travels from one humble village to the next in his dust-coated truck, peddling aspirins as a miracle cure. His only companions are the flickering images of the advertising films he uses to sell his product. His routine solitude is broken when he encounters Ranulpho, a drifter with dreams of a prosperous life in Rio de Janeiro. An unlikely friendship blossoms between the two as they journey together, sharing stories and hopes under the vast Brazilian sky. However, their camaraderie is threatened when Brazil joins the war against Germany on August 31, 1942. Johann is faced with a difficult decision: to return home and join the war, to endure the confines of a Brazilian concentration camp, or to venture into the uncharted territories of Amazonas alongside the drought-stricken migrants. As the world around them is consumed by war, the two men's friendship is put to the ultimate test, and their choices will forever alter their paths.
