Chill (2007)

In the chilling veins of classic horror, we meet Sam, an ambitious writer seeking inspiration in the most unlikely of places. He finds employment in a shadowy inner-city grocery store in L.A., presided over by the enigmatic Dr. Munoz. A former scientist, Munoz is confined to a life of icy solitude due to a mysterious skin ailment that keeps him tethered to sub-zero temperatures. As Sam navigates his new environment, he is drawn to the radiant Maria, a boutique owner in the neighborhood. Their friendship spirals into a perilous love triangle when Maria discloses her haunting past involving her ex-boyfriend, Detective Defazio. Currently on the trail of two missing local prostitutes, Defazio turns his obsessive attention to Maria. However, it's the hidden terror lurking behind the icy walls of Sam's workplace that poses the most lethal threat. Unbeknownst to him, Munoz's existence has transcended the boundaries of life and death. The chilling truth unravels; Munoz is a long-dead man who sustains his life through dark, occult rituals and the flesh of his captured victims. With Defazio's investigation leading him astray, Sam finds himself trapped in this frozen labyrinth of dread. As the clock ticks ominously, he must devise an escape plan to evade the deadly sweep of Munoz's razor-sharp blades.
