Plot

In the heart of the city's grit and grime emerges an unlikely hero, Dr. John Carpenter, portrayed by none other than the King himself, Elvis Presley, in a rare dramatic role. As an inner-city physician operating a free clinic, Carpenter is a beacon of hope in an area engulfed by despair. The plot thickens with the unexpected arrival of Mary Tyler Moore, a Catholic nun on a secret mission from the church's action committee. Disguised as a nurse, she is part of a clandestine trio sent to bolster Dr. Carpenter's efforts in uplifting the community. 'Change of Habit' weaves a compelling tale of their joint endeavors to effect change. However, amidst the turmoil and hardship, a divine dilemma unfolds. Will the King of Rock 'n' Roll be able to vie against the King of Kings for Moore's devotion? The stage is set for a battle of the heavens, with Moore's heart at stake. With only a few soulful songs to break the dramatic tension, 'Change of Habit' offers a unique glimpse of Elvis playing it straight, locked in an extraordinary contest of love and duty. The movie is a symphony of faith, love, and the power of change, set against the backdrop of a city in desperate need of salvation.
