The Ring Two (2005)

The events of this film take place six months after the events of the first film. Protagonist Rachel Keller has moved with her son, Aidan, to a small town outside of Seattle, where she works for a local paper. While working, Rachel learns of the death of another individual at the hand of Samara Morgan, the prior film's main villain, and the girl in the infamous Ring tape. However, Samara is not done with Rachel or her son yet and begins to haunt Aidan, ultimately possessing him. Rachel must now fight to save the life of her son while continuing to unwind Samara's mystery.
