Plot

In the grim shadows of World War I, Bulgaria serves as the backdrop for Captain Conan, a warrior as fierce as a wolf, who commands a squadron of 50 fierce French fighters. These soldiers, renowned for their brutality and preference for close combat, live by a chilling creed: "We forgot to take prisoners, Captain." With the war's end, they traverse to Bucharest, where Conan grapples with the task of keeping his battle-hardened men in check while maintaining their respect. In this new, peaceful paradigm, Conan finds himself a stranger. His bond with Norbert, once a mild-mannered teacher, now a steadfast lieutenant, is strained. Norbert, aware of impending charges against Conan, steps into the role of a court-martial prosecutor in a bid to shield his comrade. Yet, their friendship is caught in the crossfire of duty and loyalty. As fate thrusts them towards the Russian border to confront Bolshevik insurgents, Conan finds himself back in his brutal element, and Norbert is spared from his moral dilemma. This engaging tale of camaraderie, conflict, and survival paints an evocative portrait of men caught in the throes of war and the uneasy peace that follows.
