Cabiria (1914)

In the tumultuous third century BC, amidst the fiery eruptions of Mount Etna and the escalating conflict of the Punic Wars, the young and innocent Cabiria is violently torn from her home. This innocent child, along with her devoted nurse Croessa, finds herself ensnared in the treacherous web of piracy, sold into the cold clutches of slavery in the exotic city of Carthage. As the sacrificial flames to the god Moloch lick the air hungrily, a glimmer of hope emerges in the form of Fulvio Axilla, a noble Roman, and his towering slave, Maciste. In a daring rescue, they snatch Cabiria from the jaws of death, entrusting her to the care of the enigmatic Queen Sophonisba.
