Plot

In the tumultuous third century BC, amidst the fiery eruptions of Mount Etna and the escalating conflict of the Punic Wars, the young and innocent Cabiria is violently torn from her home. This innocent child, along with her devoted nurse Croessa, finds herself ensnared in the treacherous web of piracy, sold into the cold clutches of slavery in the exotic city of Carthage. As the sacrificial flames to the god Moloch lick the air hungrily, a glimmer of hope emerges in the form of Fulvio Axilla, a noble Roman, and his towering slave, Maciste. In a daring rescue, they snatch Cabiria from the jaws of death, entrusting her to the care of the enigmatic Queen Sophonisba. However, the wheel of fate keeps turning, and Maciste is captured, his colossal strength unable to guard him against the cunning of his captors. Meanwhile, Fulvio Axilla, too, is forced to flee Carthage, leaving behind the city and the child he saved. As a decade punctuated by the thunder of wars and shifting alliances passes, he yearns for a return, a chance to rescue his loyal slave and reunite with Cabiria. When the dust of the Punic wars finally settles, Carthage kneels to the might of Rome, and Fulvio seizes his chance. In the ashes of the fallen city, the threads of their stories intertwine once more, leading Cabiria on a poignant journey back home, under the protective wing of her savior, Fulvio. This sweeping epic, set against the backdrop of one of history's most volatile periods, is a tale of courage, survival, and the indomitable spirit of a young girl named Cabiria.
