Plot

In the vibrant hustle and bustle of 1963 London, we meet Ronald Christopher, affectionately known as "Buster" Edwards (Phil Collins), a charming rogue with a knack for petty crime. Buster's criminal endeavors are a testament of love, aiming to support his devoted wife June (Dame Julie Walters), their young daughter Nicky (Ellie Beaven), and an unborn child on the way. Despite his careful approach that has kept his prison stints short, Buster’s penchant for gambling often leaves the family living from job to job. Buster's life takes a thrilling turn when he and his associates orchestrate an audacious plan to rob a million-pound sterling mail aboard a train. The monumental heist, which far exceeds his prior petty crimes, chills June to her core. But with a blend of courage and audacity, they pull off the job, leaving the authorities initially stumped. However, the government, still recovering from the Profumo Affair, piles immense pressure on the police to apprehend the culprits. When Buster's identity leaks as one of the robbers, he and his family are thrust into a life of running and hiding. Their once simple life is turned upside down, and the pair grapple with their new reality and the decisions they must make for their future. Buster arranges for a reunion in Mexico, envisioning a fresh start for his family. But his dream is shadowed by a daunting dilemma: he must choose between a life of freedom and the family he cherishes. The engaging tale of 'Buster' is a riveting exploration of love, crime, and sacrifice, set against the backdrop of a tumultuous era in British history.
