Bringing Him Back (2021)

In the aftermath of their mother's passing, Mia and Moi, two siblings, reunite at their family's secluded homestead - a house nestled deep within a forgotten corner of the world. Accompanying Moi is his amiable boyfriend Biel, a man devotedly grappling with Moi's schizophrenia, striving to manage the medication that keeps the hallucinations and delusions at bay. As the trio navigates the memories of their past and muses on plans of the future, Biel endeavors to restore Moi to the boy he fell in love with, hoping to dissolve the shadow of apathy and sadness that the medication has cast. Their tranquil sanctuary, however, is disrupted with the unexpected arrival of Mikel, Mia's ex-boyfriend, who shows up, battered and bruised from a motorcycle accident. Mikel, a macho, trouble-causing stoner, is desperate to reclaim Mia, much to her dismay and Moi's growing anxiety. Despite Mia's intentions to end their relationship, Mikel manipulates his way into staying at the house under the guise of recovery, his presence beginning to unsettle not just Mia, but Moi and Biel as well. As the tension escalates, it culminates one fateful night into a shocking act of violence, leading to dire consequences. The dwelling that once promised healing and reminiscence now teeters on the brink of chaos in this poignant exploration of love, mental illness, and the ties that bind us.
