The film's unnerving journey commences deep in the bible belt, where young Cody awakens to the horrifying spectacle of his parents' brutal demise at the hands of merciless intruders. Pierced by a crossbow bolt, Cody narrowly escapes the hands of these relentless "hunters." Heeding his parents' dying advice, Cody seeks solace with his enigmatic uncle in Long Beach, an unscrupulous businessman and eminent figure within the Carpathian American society.
Cody is soon intertwined within the society's intricate web, encountering eccentric characters along the way. Among them are Harry, a crusading journalist with a non-Carpathian girlfriend/lawyer advocating for Carpathian integration, the sultry Celia who savors the thrill of a bitten neck in her intense moments of ecstasy, and "The Shrikes", a rebellious gang of adolescent vampire bikers. Cody's initiation into this clandestine world reveals the terrifying secret that binds this clan together - their ancient thirst for human blood.
However, this sinister peace is shattered when the hunters from Cody's past resurface, hell-bent on annihilating the nest of vampires they've uncovered. The Carpathians are now left with an impossible choice - to maintain their facade of respectability or to rekindle an age-old blood feud.
