Her home, a cramped space shared with her sister Ivete and her two young-adult children, hums with the discord of different lives intertwined. Márcia's hopes are pinned on her daughter Cláudia, a beacon of promise in their dreary world, who is diligently pursuing her nursing studies. However, her son Joca, a delinquent with an unexplained abundance of cash, is a constant source of apprehension.
When Cláudia drops the bombshell of her clandestine relationship with a married professor, it sends ripples through their fragile existence, dredging up the ghost of Márcia's own past.
