Plot

In the year 1994, Toronto becomes the unexpected awakening ground for Boya, an enigmatic vampire who has been slumbering undisturbed since 1969. Startled into consciousness by the unlikely intrusion of a stray golf ball, Boya finds himself in a world vastly different from the one he left behind. He journeys to a local cemetery, unearthing his possessions from the shadows of a forgotten grave, before seeking refuge in a budget hotel nestled beside an all-night donut shop. Boya, no longer a consumer of human blood, sustains himself on the life essence of rats and pigeons. As he navigates this new era, he forms an unlikely camaraderie with Earl, a down-on-his-luck taxi driver entangled with local criminals. This connection to humanity deepens as Boya finds himself irresistibly drawn to Molly, a sweet-natured waitress at the donut shop. However, his tranquil existence is threatened when Rita, a figure from his distant past, resurfaces. She's a woman lost in time, yearning for her vanished youth and the vampire who once stirred her heart. As she relentlessly hunts for Boya, he must grapple with the remnants of his past love and the entanglements of his newfound connections, while striving to maintain his bloodless existence amidst the nocturnal pulse of modern Toronto.
