In the dusty heart of 1906, the renowned Western Post newspaper stirs up a storm of ambition and audacity with a cross-country horse race. A grueling 700-mile test of endurance over treacherous desert and craggy terrain promises the triumphant rider a handsome $2,000 reward. This daring challenge lures a diverse mélange of eager competitors, each as distinctive as the American West itself. Among the spirited contenders is the resilient Miss Jones, a former lady of the night with a heart as courageous as her past is checkered. Adding to the competition are the ex-Rough Riders, the loyal Sam Clayton, and the impulsive Luke Matthews, bound by camaraderie and rivalry in equal measure.
