Besetment (2016)

In the throes of desperation, Amanda Millard, burdened by unemployment and the pressures of living with her estranged alcoholic mother, finds a glimmer of hope in the gloomy landscape of her life. This hope arrives in the form of an invitation to a job interview at the Oregon Hotel, an isolated establishment nestled in the hushed countryside of Mitchell, Oregon, a good 80 miles from her home. Upon her arrival, Amanda is greeted by the seemingly kind-hearted Mildred Colvin who, along with her son, Billy, extends an offer of a maid position to Amanda while also assisting in the repair of her car. With a newfound sense of purpose, Amanda bids farewell to her mother and her friend Brittany, and ventures back to Mitchell, carrying with her a small cache of personal belongings. Her life in Mitchell begins to take shape as she forms a companionship with Brad, a cook from a nearby eatery, and spends her day off in his company. However, this tranquility is short-lived when Amanda faints upon returning to the hotel, waking up to the shocking revelation of her pregnancy - a bewildering circumstance considering her lack of any recent sexual encounters. Amanda's struggle to make ends meet soon morphs into a chilling battle for survival as the true intentions of Mildred and Billy Colvin begin to surface. Trapped in the eerie back country town, Amanda's fight for life unfolds against the backdrop of the Oregon Hotel, where the line between friend and foe blurs ominously, turning her newfound hope into a haunting nightmare.
