Beneath (2007)

In the serene town of Edgemont, Montana, a tragic car accident shatters the bond between two sisters, Christy Wescot and Vanessa Locke. On her fourteenth birthday, Christy's innocent request for a joyride in her sister's convertible spirals into a nightmare. The car crashes, leaving Christy unscathed but trapping Vanessa in an inferno that leaves her horrifically disfigured. As Christy is sent to Pine Bluff Psychiatric Care Center to cope with the traumatic event, Vanessa fights for survival in the care of her husband, Dr. John Locke, with the aid of nurse Claire Wells. However, Vanessa's battle ends abruptly with a fatal heart attack. The shock triggers a mental breakdown in Christy, who insists her sister is still alive within the coffin. Haunted by chilling nightmares and cryptic visions, Christy relocates to California to pursue pre-med. However, the death of the family caretaker, Joseph, six years later, pulls her back to Edgemont. With the support of her friend Debbie, Christy stays in town and begins to experience unsettling blackouts filled with bizarre visions. Driven by these enigmatic occurrences and her conviction about her sister's fate, she decides to unravel the mystery surrounding Vanessa's death. As she navigates through the twisted secrets of her past, the townsfolk question her sanity, attributing her actions to a borderline personality disorder. Caught in a web of nightmares, reality, and dark secrets, Christy must confront her deepest fears and the haunting truth about her sister's death.
