Behave Yourself! (1951)

In the quaint suburban world of a budding accountant, Bill Denny, life is blissfully mundane. Living under the stern gaze of his disapproving mother-in-law, he shares a loving bond with his wife, Kate Denny - a bond they are celebrating on their second wedding anniversary. The day takes a whirlwind turn when a stray Welsh terrier, causing chaos in the store, prevents Bill from purchasing a gift for Kate. Unbeknownst to Bill, this little disruption is about to become his anniversary present, as the terrier, cheekily named Archie by Kate, follows him home. However, in the labyrinth of their ordinary life, Bill and Kate are ignorant of the fact that their new pet is no ordinary canine. Archie has escaped from a den of smugglers, cunningly trained to be the secret liaison for the exchange of illicit goods and cash. The unsuspecting couple is catapulted into a world of peril as the buyers of the smuggled goods, feeling deceived by the absence of their canine courier, start sniffing around for Archie. Bill, in his quest to restore order, tries to rid himself of Archie, a task made exceedingly challenging by the terrier's curious attachment to him and his inherent duty to carry out his training. His attempts to return Archie lead to a series of misunderstandings, putting him in the crosshairs of both the mob and the law enforcement. Meanwhile, Kate grapples with Archie's mysterious antics during their walks, as the little dog attempts to complete his mission. All the while, a beleaguered police detective, hot on the trail of a series of murders, finds a puzzling connection to Bill, adding another layer of chaos to the mix. In the hilarious and thrilling movie "Behave Yourself," Bill becomes an unwitting and comical hero, struggling to comprehend the madness unfolding around him, all thanks to an unsuspecting gift - a Welsh terrier with an unexpected secret life.
