Barricade (2012)

In the wake of an enduring tragedy, the movie "Barricade" unravels the tale of Terrance Shade, a man lost in the depths of love for his late wife Leah and their two children, Cynthia and Jake. A year after Leah's untimely departure, Terrance, in an attempt to hold onto fragments of his past life, decides to spend Christmas in an isolated cabin. This is not any ordinary cabin, but one which his wife had often visited during her childhood and held dear in her heart. Upon their arrival, they are warmly welcomed by Sheriff Howes, who hands over the keys to a cabin that is surprisingly well-stocked with supplies. But as the Shade family settles into their retreat, the serene mountains begin to whisper tales of the supernatural, and the cabin transforms into a haunting echo of their past. Terrance soon finds himself on an unstable line between reality and daydreams, as eerie events unfold around them. The family is plagued by visions and occurrences that send chills down their spines. Are these just fragments of their grieving minds, or is there something more sinister lurking within the cabin's wooden walls? In a desperate bid to keep his family safe, Terrance takes the drastic step of barricading them within the cabin. But as the ghostly happenings escalate, one can't help but question - is their sanctuary turning into their prison? Is the barricade protecting them, or is it trapping them with their deepest fears?
