Plot

In the frenetic underbelly of New York, Alvin Sanders, an affable yet low-level thief, finds himself entangled in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse after a misguided attempt to steal prawns lands him in a prison cell with John Jaster. Jaster, a mastermind criminal with a failing heart, is the brains behind a daring heist that pilfered $42,000,000 in gold from the Federal Reserve. On the brink of death, Jaster whispers a cryptic message to Alvin, a clue to the location of the concealed loot, a message as elusive as Jaster’s enigmatic partner, Bristol. Eighteen months later, with Jaster dead and the gold still missing, the relentless U.S. Treasury investigator, Edgar Clenteen, hatches an audacious plan. He implants a sleek tracking device in Alvin's jaw, releasing him from prison as unwitting bait with the rumor that he holds the key to the hidden fortune. Clenteen’s aim? To ensnare the elusive Bristol and recover the stolen gold. As Alvin navigates the labyrinthine streets of New York, striving to leave his life of crime behind, reconcile with his girlfriend Lisa, and embrace unexpected fatherhood, he becomes a pawn in this deadly game. The hapless thief is constantly under the watchful eyes of Clenteen and his hard-nosed team of agents, yet his every move is shadowed by the dangerous and ever-looming Bristol. Meanwhile, Alvin's criminal brother, Stevie, and his dubious associates add another layer of peril, threatening to derail Clenteen’s meticulously laid plans and land Alvin back behind bars. As the stakes rise, and the noose tightens, Alvin's life spirals into a vortex of danger and uncertainty. What will unfold when he discovers that he is the lure in this perilous hunt, a bait intended to capture the elusive Bristol?
