Plot

Set in the frosty heart of the 1950s Korean War, the film, "Ayla: The Daughter of War," unfolds a tale of unexpected kinship and indomitable spirit. When Sergeant Süleyman, a soldier from the Turkish UN Brigade, stumbles upon a tiny, trembling girl on the brink of death, his life takes an unforeseen turn. With no parents in sight and the chilling winds of war howling around them, Süleyman makes a desperate decision, smuggling the child into his army base and safeguarding her from the relentless onslaught of war. Unable to communicate with her due to language barriers and not knowing her name, Süleyman christens her Ayla, an echo of the moon that watched over their fated encounter. Ayla, with her innocent charm and resilience, breathes an uncanny joy into the war-weary Turkish brigade, becoming a beacon of hope and solace amidst the carnage. As the war inches towards its end, the brigade is informed of their impending return home. The thought of abandoning Ayla torments Süleyman, stirring him to exhaust all means to bring her along. Yet, the bitter reality of failure looms large, and he is compelled to leave her in an orphanage. Yet, his spirit remains unbroken as he clings to the hope of reuniting with Ayla one day. "Ayla: The Daughter of War" is a poignant narrative of human connection and relentless hope in the face of war. Will Süleyman and Ayla find their way back to each other? The answer lies within the heart-wrenching journey that this film promises to be.
