Awkward Hands (1970)

In the expansive, sun-kissed plains of the American West, the story unfolds around Peter, a guileless ranch hand with a heart full of love for Dorothy Warren, the radiant daughter of the ranch's stern owner. When Mr. Warren unearths Peter's affections, he reacts with wrath, serving Peter a harsh beating and banishing him from the ranch. Regardless, Dorothy's spirit remains untamed, and she defiantly trails after her beloved Peter. This courageous act, however, leads to the pair's capture by Warren's menacing henchmen, who drag them back to the ranch's confines. In a cruel twist of fate, Peter is subjected to another brutal lashing. To protect him from further torment, Dorothy agrees to wed Johnny, a neighboring rancher whose power lies in his control of the water supply to Warren's parched land. Banished once more, Peter spends a year in self-imposed exile, honing his skills with a firearm, readying himself for his inevitable return. Upon his return, Peter discovers Dorothy, unbound by marriage but shackled by circumstances, working in a brothel. With the fiery resolve in his heart reignited, Peter faces the daunting task of confronting both Warren and Johnny, in a desperate bid to reclaim his love, Dorothy.
