Plot

In the throes of World War II, the relentless Major Jamie Wilson, a Canadian officer, proposes an audacious commando raid against an enemy stronghold on the French coast, a port known as the Iron Coast. This German-occupied fortress houses a pivotal dry-dock, where the enemy refits their formidable battleships, posing a significant threat to the Allies. The daring operation, named Operation Mad Dog, is met with substantial resistance, mainly due to the high probability of failure and Wilson's previous missteps in command. At the heart of the opposition is a grief-stricken Royal Navy captain, whose son perished in a previous raid under Wilson's leadership. Yet, after a tumultuous debate, the operation receives reluctant approval from the commanding R.N. Admiral. The training for the mission is grueling, mirroring the harsh realities of warfare with live ammunition and explosives, leading to several casualties and casting doubt on the feasibility of the operation. Despite the adversity, Operation Mad Dog proceeds, but with an unfortunate twist. Due to wartime scarcity, Wilson's team is equipped with sub-par gear and an aged mine-layer instead of a state-of-the-art destroyer. The daring plan involves a ship loaded with explosives, set to ram into the dry-dock, creating an opening for the commandos to attack the shore installations. Simultaneously, additional forces would land on neighboring piers to stage a diversionary assault. The mission teeters on the brink of failure when a German observation plane spots the task force, alerting the vigilant German shore command. The situation further deteriorates when the Admiralty orders the mission aborted due to the RAF's inability to provide bombing support. The German guards, now on high alert, intensify their watch, sensing the impending danger. However, Wilson, a man determined to prove his worth, disregards the abort order. Driven by a stubborn resolve, he steers his men into the uncertainty of the night, towards the deadly Iron Coast. This tale of courage, resilience, and defiance against the odds, is a testament to the undying human spirit in the face of immense adversity.
