In the world of high school hierarchy, 17-year-old Deanna, the resident heart-stopper, cunningly ensnares Melvin, the unsuspecting geek, in a calculated April Fools' Day prank. A motley crew of classmates joins her in the scheme - Missy, the virtuous girl-next-door; Malik, her jock beau; Eva, the rhythm and blues queen; Scoop, the sports star; and Diego, the resident troublemaker.
However, Missy's conscience awakens mid-prank, urging her to halt the torment. Diego, driven by his rebellious spirit, pushes the prank too far, leading to an unforeseen tragedy - Melvin is inadvertently killed. As the shock subsides, guilt and regret settle in, forever staining their adolescent memories.
A year passes, and April Fools' Day returns with a vengeance. One by one, the teens meet a gruesome end, their lives snuffed out by an unseen hand. Meanwhile, Missy's father, the seasoned Detective Combs, and his stalwart partner, Detective Ward, are plunged headfirst into the mysterious case. Racing against the clock, they must unravel the enigma, hunting down the elusive killer before the day is out - and before Missy becomes the next victim in this relentless game of April Fools' revenge.
