Plot

In the heartrending tale of Animus: The Tell-Tale Heart (2015), the quiet and unassuming Edgar (Rick Dethlefsen) finds himself spiraling down a path of vengeance, spurred by the brutal murder of his beloved daughter (Kelly Kirstein). However, the wheels of retribution grind to a halt when her boyfriend and presumed killer, Jonathan (Axel Harney), abruptly takes his own life at his father's secluded hilltop abode. Edgar, bereft of his quest for justice, stumbles into the disorienting labyrinth of his own psyche, plagued by unnerving nightmares and fractured memories. A peculiar character emerges from these twisted dreams, guiding Edgar on an unexpected journey of revenge against the enigmatic and disfigured father of his daughter's boyfriend, Mr. Nelson (Bruce Spielbauer). As Edgar becomes increasingly convinced of Mr. Nelson's culpability in his daughter's demise, he evolves into a terrifying instrument of retribution, his moral compass disintegrating in the face of his unquenchable thirst for vengeance. As the lines between reality and imagination blur, Edgar's loved ones find themselves in the crossfire, their lives hanging in the balance. Animus: The Tell-Tale Heart beckons viewers into a chilling world where nothing is as it seems, and the pursuit of justice takes a dark and unexpected turn. The question persists - are those who Edgar deems deserving of his wrath truly guilty, or are they merely pawns in a game dictated by his grief-stricken mind? This gripping psychological thriller will leave you questioning everything until the very end.
