In the heart of sunny Malibu, Wanda Saknussemm, an unassuming and socially awkward bookworm, finds her life abruptly turned upside down. Unfairly labeled as lacking the thrill of adventure by her now ex-boyfriend, Wanda is plunged into a whirlwind of uncertainty. The sudden disappearance of her father, a renowned archaeologist, while on a daring expedition in North Africa, propels her into a quest she never envisioned. Trading the comfort of her mundane life for the perilous unknown, Wanda embarks on a journey that leads her to a stunningly bizarre subterranean world. Here, peculiar creatures with stranger-than-fiction existences mistake her for a covert operative, marking her as a target. With danger lurking in every shadowy corner, Wanda finds herself in a ruthless cat-and-mouse game, where every step could be her last. Yet, in the face of such adversity, Wanda uncovers a latent courage deep within her. She battles against the relentless onslaught of the subterranean dwellers, determined to not only survive but to also find her father.
