Plot
Marriage Story follows married couple Charlie and Nicole, a theater director and one-time movie actress, as they make the decision to end their 10 years of marriage. Having to split custody of their eight-year-old son proves to be extremely difficult, and the couple struggles to make their new dynamic function correctly. As lawyers take over and problems grow more complex, it makes them wonder: Why is love so painful, and is it always forever?
