Riding the waves of California sunshine, Mitchell Goosen, a sixteen-year-old surf and rollerblade enthusiast, finds his world flipped upside down. His parents, dedicated zoologists, land a prestigious grant that takes them to the exotic terrains of Australia, leaving Mitchell with no option but to trade his beach shorts for a winter coat. Shipped off to the frosty heartlands of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mitchell reluctantly settles into a new life with his unfamiliar relatives – his aunt, uncle, and particularly his cousin Wiley, who becomes his roommate for the impending six months.
