Charlie Kaufman is an accomplished scriptwriter, but he's struggling desperately on his adaptation of the nonfiction book "The Orchid Thief". He got the rights to the story when it was still just a non-fiction article, but it's since expanded into a large book that digs into the peculiarities of the lives of orchid farmers. His struggle is struggling doubly thanks to the fact that his twin brother is having no trouble churning out scripts of his own. Their stories intertwine both with that of the nonfiction book's author and with that of the famous orchid thief himself.
