In the not-so-distant future, in a time when lofty dreams and difficult struggles propel humanity upwards into the heavens and beyond, a series of strange, unexplainable attacks threaten life on planet Earth. At the same time, astronaut Roy McBride accepts a dangerous mission that will take him across the vast emptiness of space. His orders are to find out what happened to a decades old voyage that fearlessly ventured out further than anyone had before in hopes of unlocking the secrets of the galaxy.
