Red Planet (2000)

It's 2055, and the Earth is nearly unlivable by humans. In a desperate attempt to keep humanity alive, a group of astronauts and their robotic do are sent to Mars to determine whether or not a colony is viable. Each astronaut is American and highly competent in their unique fields, but finding the best in each field means that their personalities and ideologies are very different, and that friction becomes one of the biggest threats to their survival on this alien planet. But once things begin to go wrong, they can no longer afford anything less than full and harmonious cooperation.

Red Planet is an action movie featuring Val Kilmer and directed by Antony Hoffman.
