As dawn breaks over the sprawling oat fields of Carranco, Ramón stumbles upon a haunting sight - the lifeless body of Adela, his concealed adolescent love. Draping his shirt over her bare form, the town's rumor mill quickly churns into action, speculating that Ramón's girlfriend has met a tragic end. Concurrently, the enigmatic Gitano departs Carranco after a passionate encounter with Gabriela, abruptly disrupted by the mysterious beam of an unidentifiable torchbearer.
That evening, in the town's bustling watering hole, a heated debate ensues amongst the locals, including Justino, the town sheriff. Suddenly, La Amistad, wielding his flashlight like a spotlight of accusation, cries out that the girl's murder was Gitano's doing. In the wake of this declaration, Marcelino, a man embittered by age and circumstance, goads Ramón into seeking justice for his 'girlfriend's' murder.
Now, Ramón stands at a crossroads. He must either demonstrate his maturity and courage to the townsfolk by avenging Adela's death or abandon Carranco, branded with the stigma of cowardice. This poignant tale of love, loss, and retribution unfolds amidst the rustic beauty of Carranco, its simplicity belying the complexity of human emotions and societal pressures.
