As Christmas descends upon the quaint town of Briar Falls, a conflict stirs, casting a shadow over the festive season. Nell Harper, an architect with a passion for heritage preservation, finds herself at odds with her New York consulting firm's priorities. Tasked with her first project as manager, Nell is to oversee the transformation of the beloved Majestic Playhouse into a modern multiplex. The playhouse, a cherished centerpiece of Briar Falls, hosts the town's community-oriented functions, including the enchanting Twelve Days of Christmas Festival, culminating in the annual Christmas Pageant and Tableaux on Christmas Eve. This project's mastermind is the new owner, Connor Martin. Having inherited the property from his Aunt Emily, Connor is a stranger to Briar Falls and its rich traditions. Guided by financial motives and quick to make judgments, he is eager to proceed with the redevelopment, indifferent to the town's objections. Yet, despite their resistance to the project, the townsfolk harbor no resentment towards Nell, a cherished member of their community.
