Plot

In the heart of the classic tale, Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (1997) weaves an intriguing subplot, a chapter undisclosed, that unfolds within the stone-cold walls of the Beast's castle. Belle (Paige O'Hara), the delightfully resolute prisoner of the castle, is a beacon of hope amid the gloom. Against the Beast's (Robbie Benson) stern disapproval, she is determined to ignite the spirit of Christmas, to drape the austere castle in traditional holiday cheer, and in doing so, bring a touch of warmth to his frosty heart. Simultaneously, a new threat lurks in the castle's shadowy corners. Forte (Tim Curry), the castle's grand pipe organ, views himself as the indispensable companion to the Beast. He trembles at the thought of Belle's plans potentially lifting the curse, a prospect that threatens his elevated status. Driven by fear, he manipulates Fife (Paul Reubens), a naive flute yearning for his solo, to sabotage Belle's efforts and eradicate her presence. The Enchanted Christmas presents a festive challenge, a battle against tradition and change, joy and melancholy, love and fear. As Belle attempts to kindle the magic of Christmas, she must also circumvent the sinister plans that seek to extinguish her light. Will Belle succeed, or will the castle remain shrouded in an eternal winter? The answer lies in the heart of this enchanting midquel to Beauty and the Beast (1991).
