Plot

In the heart of a humble town, Winfred Simpson, a local lad bristles at the attention his sweetheart, Phyllis Jenkins, receives from the flamboyant trick cyclist, Harry St. Clair. St. Clair, a showboat on a personal appearance tour, sweeps through their quiet community, leaving a trail of awestruck locals in his wake. Heartbroken when Phyllis spurns him, Winfred leaves his small-town life behind, setting his sights on the renowned 6-Day bike race. A twist of fate introduces him to Clinton Hemmings, an ambitious cyclist, and the two form an unlikely partnership, perfecting their skills as bicycle messengers in the bustling city. During a delivery, Winfred stumbles upon St. Clair in a compromising situation, mistaking a woman's voice in the room for Phyllis. The ensuing brawl lands him in jail, leaving Clinton to face the rigorous race alone. Winfred's release from jail marks the beginning of a thrilling race against time. With nothing but determination and a "borrowed" bike, he pedals fiercely towards the Velodrome, making a last-minute entry into the race. Fate throws him another curveball in the form of an ether-soaked cloth entangled in his bike's spokes. As the potent fumes incapacitate his rivals, Winfred finds himself with an unexpected advantage. The once small-town bumpkin is now at the heart of a grand cycling event, pedaling his way towards an unforeseen destiny.
