Plot

In the heart of the 1972 Munich Olympics, an infamous assault unravels within the confines of the Olympic Village, targeting Israeli athletes and coaches. The chilling events are masterfully depicted in this riveting made-for-television film, enriched with authentic archive footage from the actual games. The malevolent orchestrators are none other than members of the Palestinian Black September Movement who, in their brutal pursuit, claim two lives and seize nine as hostages. Their audacious demand: the liberation of hundreds of Arab captives from Israeli prisons. The Israeli government, steadfast in their no-negotiation policy with terrorists, refuses to capitulate. Meanwhile, the shadows of the Holocaust linger, preventing West German officials from permitting the terrorists to escape with the hostages. Amidst the maelstrom, the responsibility of navigating this crisis falls into the hands of the Chief of Police, Manfred Schreiber. His strategy: a delicate game of negotiation, weaving a web of delays in response to the Palestinian ultimatums. Yet, Schreiber is painfully aware that this delaying tactic is merely a temporary solution, and the specter of hard choices looms ominously in the near future.
